Business Development Executive –Pharmaceutical Export 

Location -Watford

Contract Type – Permanent

Hours – Full Time

Salary – competitive Basic with OTE package

Opportunity to join an expanding pharmaceutical export company operating throughout the globe

CHAPPER healthcare is looking for a skilled and motivated Business Development Executive to join its friendly team at its offices near Watford as the company continues to grow into new international markets and product areas.

The role involves new lead generation and development to grow and develop the CHAPPER healthcare business in new markets and with new clients.

Key stakeholders/ Interphases

Reporting directly to the Marketing / Business Development Manager and regular interactions with the CEO, Head of Sales, sales executives and purchasing team.


  • Meet and exceed revenue goals for new business generation
  • Work closely with marketing to develop leads generated through exhibitions, online and through other marketing campaigns for the wholesale and distribution parts of the business
  • Properly qualify all new sales leads and build a strong sales pipeline
  • For new leads, manage the process for quoting and servicing the lead until a revenue stream has been established and the client can be passed onto the account team
  • Develop and close sales opportunities, growing the size and value of sales over time
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the pharmaceutical export industry to maximize the value we can offer our clients
  • Work collaboratively with the rest of the CHAPPER healthcare team to support new business opportunities with clients
  • Work in tandem with the sales manager and marketing to research potential targets and identify key players and strategies to penetrate new accounts and markets
  • Accurately manage, update and record all relevant activities in the internal CRM system ( and order system
  • To maintain compliance with all policies and standard operation procedures (SOPs) across the company
  • Ability to travel globally to visit clients and leads, as required, and to pharmaceutical exhibitions to meet new clients

Essential skills & experience for this role include:

  • Evidence of strong sales and opportunity management skills across the full sales cycle
  • Proven track record of business to business lead generation, development and sales
  • Skilled at prospecting for new business
  • Self-motivated, problem solver who is driven to succeed
  • Proven ability to respond promptly and appropriately to customers’ needs
  • Ability to develop strong internal relationships and to work collaboratively with the wider internal team
  • Excellent organisational skills and efficiency with ability to multi-task effectively
  • Experience using a CRM system, preferably, advantageous and use of a procurement / order system necessary
  • Knowledge of the pharmaceutical market, ideally pharmaceutical wholesale / export
  • Foreign languages advantageous but not essential
  • Strong written and verbal communication and time management skills
  • Highly IT literate (Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook)
  • Commercially driven
