Ultrabase® is an emollient cream which may be used for a wide variety of dry skin conditions.

How to Use Ultrabase®:
Ultrabase® should be smoothed onto the skin as often as needed.

Product Information:
Ultrabase® is a moisturiser that can be used to dilute skin preparations and is also used as a base for other medicines. It may be used as an alternative to topical corticosteroids (medicines put on the skin to reduce the redness and itchiness of certain skin problems) when they are being stopped. It may also be used alone after the topical corticosteroid is no longer used.

Presentation: Ultrabase® is a white cream containing white soft paraffin 10% w/w. Uses: Ultrabase® is a moisturiser that can be used as an emollient. It can also be used to dilute dermatological preparations and as a vehicle for other dermatological medicines. Additionally, it may be alternated with topical corticosteroids when the latter are being gradually withdrawn, and may be continued alone after complete withdrawal of the topical corticosteroid. Dosage: The cream should be smoothed onto the skin as often as required. Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients. Warnings and Precautions: Contains stearyl alcohol which may cause local skin reactions. Contains methyl parahydroxybenzoate and propyl parahydroxybenzoate which may cause allergic reactions. Instruct patients not to smoke or go near naked flames – risk of severe burns. Fabric (clothing, bedding, dressings etc) that has been in contact with this product burns more easily and is a serious fire hazard. Washing clothing and bedding may reduce product build-up but not totally remove it. Side Effects: Hypersensitivity skin reactions including erythema and pruritus have been reported.
